Who's First?

If you have kids, you know that 3 and 5 year olds have a hard time with sharing.  And being the "Line Leader" is a great, big thing!  Why?  Because it's all about them, and they like being first!

We are no different, which is one reason we have so many trials.  And the unfortunate thing is that we often live our marriages this way.

I want to follow up on Sunday's message and ask you a question and give you a challenge.

The Question:  How often do you put the needs/desires of your spouse above your own needs and desires?

The Challenge:  This week, do like you did when you were dating and pour yourself into whatever your spouse is into.  Guys, show an interest in whatever your wife is interested in!  Ladies, do the same with your husbands!

I'd love to hear your thoughts and some feedback on how things go.  It might be time to dust off the rollerblades - LOL!

Throughout my marriage, this has been THE most difficult thing for me to learn, and I still have a long way to go. Especially when you have a full time job, plus kids, plus a house and cars to take care of, you have very little time left over to do what you want to do. During those times, I find my own interests so...interesting (surprise!). It really does, at times, feel like a sacrifice to spend fleeting moments of spare time on someone else's interests rather than my own.

To answer your question: not nearly enough.
