Asking for Patience - Ouch!

Asking God for patience is dangerous.  So is desiring to be refined by fire!  Both will often come through trials, hardship and even pain.

It's kind of like this:  I want to know how to play guitar.  However, I don't want to LEARN how to play guitar.  I just want to KNOW HOW to play guitar.  Learning how requires work.  Well, so does learning to be patient or asking to be refined by fire (yep, last time I checked, fire hurt!).

What are your thoughts?  How about personal experiences?  Let's learn from each other.

How are you doing?

it's the ouch that makes it sooo difficult...we live in a world where we want everything to come to us easy...doesn't happen that way! but i'm trying - thanks for the daily blogs to keep me on track!

The reason we moved to Houston was an almost family tragedy. However God brought us through and we are so thrilled to be here now. It could have been so much worse and we are so blessed. Thank you Jesus

Anonymous - yes, the ouch makes it difficult. As a follower of Christ, we don't just take the easy path. And we are so set in our ways that it hurts a bit when God begins to transform us! Keep praying for it and seeking it!

And Jo - yes, the struggles can truly be a blessing. I came to faith because of a near tragedy, and I praise God for His protection, but also His faithfulness in changing my life! I am right there with you - Thank you, Jesus!
