How Do I Meet People?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our church family.
Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at St. Timothy:
LIFE Groups
(our small group ministry)
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has LIFE Groups where we attempt to group members in the same life stage or of interest together.  The size of the group is anywhere from six to twenty people. Everyone is encouraged to join a LIFE Group.  If you are not in a LIFE Group or are new and ready to join one, contact Gloria Ruppel in the church office.
Jr. and Sr. High Student Ministry
Each Sunday morning, Jr. and Sr. High students get their very own Bible study. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every student gets to participate and learn. Wednesday night Pit Stop is a great opportunity for Jr. High students to build friendships with fun and active games followed by Bible Study/Confirmation.  Sunday night FUEL is when our Senior High Students get together for all types of fun and Bible Study.  No matter the event, life long friendships are developed while building a relationship with Christ as well.
Men's Ministry
Accountability among men is an act of integrity.  Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages.  Through Bible Study, activities, and men's events, relationships are developed that encourage men to be men of faith.  Weekly Bible Studies and Basketball games as well as annual events such as:  fishing, golf, skeet shoot, and paintball are just some of the events for the men of St. Timothy.  For more information contact the church office.
Women's Ministry
Women's groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women's ministry provides time for Bible Study, getting together for fun, weekend retreats, Bunco nights, Book Club, prayer, and opportunities to grow in our faith. No matter what age or stage of life, there are opportunities for you to build life long friendships.  Contact Gloria Ruppel to find out when and where a specific group meets.
Children's Ministry
Children need to develop friendships, learn about the love of Jesus and build a strong foundation for the faith thru life.  Our Zone 45 (4th and 5th grade youth group) is the first stepping stone leading to Jr. High confirmation.  Each week we offer Sunday School for children 2 years old thru 5th grade that is engaging and geared for your children to learn about Jesus in a setting designed just for them. For more information contact Caroline Gray
Young Families
Are you a family with young children?  You are at a stage of life that is often hard to schedule and oftentimes you are learning as you go when it comes to parenting. You too need time to dig into God's Word and to get together with other families to "brainstorm" how to deal with different things that only young families are going through.  We offer a monthly Young Family Potluck lunch where families in your life stage can visit while the children play, and then get home in time for naps.  To have your name added to the email list or to learn the date of the next Potluck Lunch, contact the church office.
Young Adults
Life can get complicated once you cross that threshold into adulthood.  There are complicated decisions.  Bigger stakes.  Serious relationships.  And a whole lot more.  A young couples without children group and a singles group welcome  college aged and young adults.  These groups are meeting regularly and if you would like to join them, please email the church office for more information.
Over 60's
Once you get past sixty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, these "seasoned" groups are for you.  Our RFC (Rewired For Christ) group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10-11:30AM for Bible Study and fellowship, and our JOY (Just Older Youth) group takes bus trips to various locations around the Houston area.  Anyone 50 and older is eligible to go on the JOY trips.  Questions? Call the church office at 281-469-2457.
Fellowship Team and BBQ Bubbas
St. Timothy seems to be "famous" for our food and fellowship.  Our Fellowship Team provides coffee and donuts every Sunday morning along with a meal on Wednesday evenings before Pit Stop, Advent, and Lent Worship.  Our BBQ Bubbas cook up some mouth watering BBQ, fried chicken and catfish, and all the fixin's for various fellowship events and special occasions.  All the while the men and ladies on these teams develop relationships and have fun.  If you would like to join the Bubbas or help out in the kitchen, please contact the church office.

Worship Volunteers

Many volunteer service opportunities are available for Sunday worship services at St. Timothy.

Altar Guild teams prepare the altar and church before worship.  Teams serve on a rotating basis.
Ushers play an important role on Sunday mornings. Men and women serve on rotating teams to guide traffic, help visitors, answer questions, provide direction, hand out bulletins, collect the offering and generally ensure that the services proceed problem free.
Hosts greet guests and provide information at the Welcome Desk.
Readers assist in worship by reading the day's Bible texts.
Tech Teams run the visual media or operate the sound board during worship services and other church events.
