"Daddy Hold You" Follow-Up

Monday I talked about Luke saying, “Daddy hold you,” and how awesome that was to hear.  I didn’t go into great detail about how it felt – but it was pretty incredible.  It’s nice to be loved.  It feels good.  It’s nice to be wanted.  It’s nice to be valued.  And just knowing that at that very moment, all he wanted in the whole wide world was for his Daddy to hold him – yeah, that was pretty awesome!

Well, in that last blog I said that I bet that’s how God feels.  Even if we say it wrong, He just loves to hear us cry out to Him, “Daddy hold you.”  I really think that from this little incident with Luke, I can learn a lot about worship.  God loves to be loved like that!  And He wants to be worshipped like that!  Some people have an issue with that, but I don't.  I won't go into great detail here, but since He's God, and He's perfectly holy, He deserves it.  And when we cry out to Him, "Daddy hold you," that's worship.  It's saying to God that all we want in the whole wide world at that very moment is to be in His presence!  That all we want or need in this world is Him!  Man, that has to be pleasing to His ears!

There's something powerful about receiving love from someone that you brought into this world (don't worry your little head, I'm pretty sure God had something to do with that, too).  If we are imperfect, and that's what we want, imagine how true that is for God who created all things.  In a nutshell, He wants our love.  [And if you want to go deeper, our love is best modeled through obedience - see John 14:15, 21, 23.]

So, if you want to show God some love today and truly worship Him, just cry out, "Daddy hold you!"
