The other day my wife was in the kitchen and the boys were playing outside. We have all kinds of windows, so it's easy to keep tabs on them. And we have a fence, so they can't really go anywhere. After a while, my wife could only see our 3 year old - not our 18 month old. She walked out into the backyard and looked around, and couldn't find him. Then she looked on the side of the house and noticed the gate was wide open! You can probably imagine what kind of emotions went through her mind! She was panicked! It was only about 30 seconds until she heard him - in the backyard - in the little swingset fort we have, but those 30 seconds were rough!
That was 30 seconds. And he wasn't even lost. Imagine how you would feel if one of your children (if you have children) had been missing for days - or weeks - or months? If that's how we would feel, imagine how God feels with the millions of people who don't know or acknowledge Him!
