Armor of God Series

A few of you have asked about some of the specific references to Bible verses from the last couple of sermons on Spiritual Warfare and the Armor of God!  I'm not going to give a whole recap of the sermon, but I will try to include as many verse references as possible.  This is not an exhaustive list from Scripture, but a sampling of some of the key verses on the subject matter.  So, in case you were taking notes and just missed something, or if you would just like to have these references, here are the ones from this last Sunday...

January 22nd, on the Breastplate of Righteousness and the Shoes of Foundation/Preparation/Readiness of the Gospel:

The primary verses were Ephesians 6:14-15.

Verses on the Positional Righteousness (that which we have due to our position in Christ, through faith in Jesus)
II Corinthians 5:21
I Corinthians 1:30
Romans 1:17
Philippians 3:8-9

Veres on the Practical or Sanctified Righteousness (becoming what Jesus has already declared us to be)
Romans 6:13
Ephesians 4:1; 5:3
Colossians 2:6; 3:5
I Thessalonians 4:1-8
(not every one of these verses uses the word "righteousness", but they talk about living in a manner consistent with what we already are, which is living according to the moral standard that Christ has established - or righteousness - and there are literally hundreds more I could have listed)

Other verses that may have been mentioned or referenced in the message:
Ephesians 4:27 - do not give the devil a foothold
Ephesians 5:3-4
Matthew 4:24 - healing those oppressed by demons
Mark 1:21-28, 39 - Jesus casting out evil spirits
Mark 5:18 - use of the word "possessed" to describe the severity of the evil spirit's influence
Matthew 17:14-20, Mark 9:14-29, Luke 9:37-43 - child possessed by evil spirit

and finally - Romans 8:1, 37-39 - no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus
