Current Sunday Bible Classes

Through August 27
Classes are from 9:30-10:30 AM

“Hymns and their stories” – We have a rich heritage of worship music, and most hymns were written with a specific purpose in mind. This class will explore the scripture basis and background stories of some of our well-known and best-loved hymns, increasing your expression of praise to our magnificent God. Various leaders in 101

“I AM” – Christians confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, lift Him up in worship, and make the world a better place in response to His love. But WHO is Jesus, really?  We will search scripture to better understand why He is the focus of the Bible, the center of history, and the heart of missions.  He is the incomparable I AM. Led by Gloria, Pastor Steve, Pastor Brad in 201

All In Orphan Care – (Ends August 20) We, as believers, have been adopted into God’s family. This is a primary teaching of our faith which impacts how we interact with our world, including children who have no home. We care because we have been greatly cared for. We rescue because we are the rescued ones. Various leaders in 102/103

Special Labor Day Bible Class

September 3
9:30 - 10:30 AM

Real ministry belongs in church, right? Contrary to popular belief, all Christians are called to minister—especially at work. In honor of Labor Day, Pastor Steve will lead a discussion on how all believers have been called by God to share the gospel and make disciples. For those of us who spend most of our lives at work, God has called us to carry out His mission from our office desks, board rooms, and lunch tables. Utilizing the video teaching from Pastor Larry Osborne, you will see Biblical examples that show how Christians should see their work as a calling from God.

Upcoming Sunday Bible Classes

September 10 - October 29
9:30 - 10:30 AM
We must always be ready to live out the truth of the Gospel in an ever-changing world.  Nehemiah is the
Biblical account of
a courageous leader who led the
Jews as they rebuilt the wall surrounding Jerusalem despite fierce opposition.  Come to be equipped to continue living as the light of Christ to upcoming generations in these rapidly changing times.
Led by Pastors Steve and Brad in Room 201

Pastors Steve and Brad are dedicated shepherds
of the flock at St. Timothy.  They work together to preach and teach truth from scripture, leading others to know God’s heart for His people.

Discover St. Timothy
If you have been worshiping at St. Timothy and are interested in making this your church home, you are
invited to take part in this class which explores the
values and beliefs of St. Timothy, as well
as shares
how you can partner with us using your specific gifts
and interests to tell the good news of Jesus with others in our community.  At the conclusion of the class, you
can decide if you wish to become a member.
Led by Gloria Ruppel in Room 104

Gloria serves on staff at St. Timothy as Director
of Mission and Ministry.  She oversees adult Bible classes, local and overseas missions, and adult ministries at St. Timothy.  She finds great joy in getting to know people and introducing them to
the caring atmosphere and service we have at
St. Timothy.

Legacy of Luther
Five hundred years ago this October 31st, Martin Luther posted 95 theological statements for debate on the castle church in Wittenberg, Germany and
the Protestant Reformation was begun.  This eight week course will look at the events and people involved with this God-directed movement that recaptured the truth of Scripture bringing to light
the truth of the Word of God.  We will look at the conditions and false teaching which gave rise to
the Reformation, the life of Martin Luther, his theology and hymnody, and why Luther still
matters today. Join us as we look back to the historical record and look at the need for
continued reformation today.
Led by Richard Leslie in Room 102/103

Richard had served as Minister of Music and Celebration at St Timothy for many years, and
is now
serving as our Minister of Music Emeritus.
His love for teaching the Word is as strong as ever, and he has the ability to weave tidbits of history
into each lesson of faith.

What Did Jesus REALLY Say?
The Gospels contain 116 events and sayings taken from Jesus’ life and ministry.  We often try to understand them using our 21st century western customs and ideals when they were spoken to 1st century middle easterners using idioms and cultural references we are not familiar with.  Come and hear the teachings of Jesus as they were meant to be heard. Led by John Rohan in Room 202

John has been a trusted teacher of God’s truth
for many years, bringing insight into scripture that strengthens a Biblical perspective. He includes information about recent discoveries that support events
recorded in scripture. He and his wife, Nancy, are devoted to helping others discover the joy of following Jesus.

How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth
This class will help you gain a greater understanding of scripture as you learn the historical background and various types of literature found in the Bible. This class will focus on the Old Testament.  Led by Heather Harmann in Room 203

Heather and her husband, Craig have full schedules as they raise children and work while still focusing on their calling as followers of Jesus Christ.  Heather is currently working on her master’s degree in Theology in order to teach and inspire others to live a life that honors God.
