Putting Love into Practice

Yesterday, we began a six-week series learning to "put love into practice."  It's not just a feeling, or emotion, but a response to God's love by really showing love to people in specific ways.

1 Corithians 13:4 begins by describing the different characteristics of God's love. " Love is patient." Why does God start off with such a HARD one!  I wrestle with patience, how about you?  Are you hot tempered?  Do you get easily frustrated and angry?

James 1:19 says, "Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger."  Yesterday's challenge was to resolve not to say anything demeaning, negative, or critical to your spouse, child, or loved one.  How did you respond?  Were you successful?

Remember…it's not just a one time try, but a daily prayer to God asking for His help to show love every day.

I find it extremely difficult to be "slow to speak"...I need to learn to listen more

The challenge will be to do it over and over and over and make that become my new "habit"

I am not sure how I did on Sunday but I do know that my husband was awesome that day. He had just gotten off a 24 hour shift and came to Sunday School and church and then went to my daughter's house with me. He gave above and beyond and I thank God for him.
